Around the World in 80 Plates takes culinary competition to the next level as 12 chefs travel across the globe testing their skills and determination. In each episode, the contestants will travel to a different international city where they will learn the local customs, cultures, and cuisines as they participate in a gauntlet of culinary challenges. Ultimately, they will face-off in a kitchen takeover where they will not only recreate, but reinvent the menus for world-renowned restaurants and their demanding owners.

Unfortunately I bought the season pass and after the first episode I don't think I'll be able to make it through the season. First of all, who are these people? None of them seem likable, talented, or interesting. Secondly, the thought of watching these aspiring reality show contestants trampling their way around the world makes me cringe. Being an ugly American in London is one thing, but I'll have a hard time watching it happen everywhere else. This show is not about cooking, food, or even local culture. It's about the annoying machinations of a group of second-rate snack vendors who've seen too much reality television.
Not so Great......
It was just ok. It is not really about cooking as much as Survivor and The Amazing Race. I was disappointed. I think they need to think about the chefs being chefs and NOT replicators. As a person who travels overseas....they really need to talk to the chefs about not behaving like ugly americans. A couple of moments made me cringe. I may give it another shot because I like to see the locations.
It is not about their real culinary talent
It is missing something...
Talent and know how is the common point on top chef or top desserts or many Bravo shows; that specific part is what I love about those shows...
This one is not about real talent but more about walking on other people's hands to go where you want, and this doesn't deserve my respect or time...
