Description

The long-awaited 1960s TV series featuring Adam West (as Batman) and Burt Ward (as The Boy Wonder Robin) has finally arrived in Digital HD with all 120 episodes! With perfectly pitched scripts and the iconic high-camp cleverness of its “Pow!” “Thwack!” “Zap!” graphics, Batman leaped from the comic books to our living rooms as one of TV’s most beloved hits.

It's the Bright Knight -- with bad captions

It's the series I watched as a kid but with brighter colors, clearer sound, and no commercials! And no cuts for commercials either, AFAIK, with episodes clocking in around 25 minutes instead of the 19-20 minutes we'd see on TV today. All 120 episodes, complete with "BATMAN IN COLOR" and "Next week's villain" bumpers. If you love the show, this is the release you've waited for...

...unless you depend on closed captioning. The captions are AWFUL—not as in "technical glitches make it hard to read," but as in "The captions are not what the actors are saying." It seems in most episodes there are 2-3 errors per minute. And they're not typos—they're flat-out wrong words. "Shuddered" instead of "shuttered"; King Tut is captioned as saying "Master of thieves" when he says "Master of Thebes"; in quoting Shakespeare, "oft interred" is captioned "often tarried." The errors make the dialogue make no sense, and that's a real problem in a series where many of the plots pivot on wordplay and puns.

If you don't need captioning, this is a great release of the classic series. If you do...you're probably going to be confused far too often.

Rest In Peace Adam West

Just heard this morning that Adam West passed away and immediately went to watch the classic Batman episodes I saw in reruns as a kid. A classic show for anyone who loves Batman and is up for a visit to Gotham City.

Awesome collection!

Awesome collection for an awesome show! I couldn’t pass up the price either ($29 on sale). Highly recommended for any fan of Batman even at full price.
