Interesting historical stuff in less than an hour!

Good but could be better.

A great series in premise and there is a lot of potential for it. Sadly it seems to follow the history channel's tendancy to overpromote itself, over simplify and sacrifice interesting history in the name of sensationalism. Much of the information it has to offer is fantasic and if the show was more about the actual information connected using the "big history" philosophy rather than championing how big history is the revolutionary method that found it, it would be an excellent program.

I hope the execution improves as the show continues and that rather than patronizing its viewers by making a 20 minute show out of 3 minutes of information the program spends its time on actually building the connections it professes to master.

Season 2

Will there be a 2nd season? I use this series along with "Mankind: The Story of All of Us” to teach a media based adult English as a Second Language class listening and seeking class. Great content makes the students think and keeps the conversation going.
