Description

Andre ‘Dre’ Johnson (Anthony Anderson) is about to be promoted to Senior Vice President of the ad agency where he works. He and his physician wife, Rainbow (Tracee Ellis Ross), are living the American dream: great careers, four beautiful kids, and a colonial home in an upper middle class neighborhood. But has success brought too much assimilation for this black family? With a little help from his Dad (Lawrence Fishburne), Dre sets out to establish a sense of cultural identity for his family that honors their past while embracing the future.

Let the title go...

Some of you delusional weenies are missing the point! The suggested content of the show is particularly interesting and will likely connect with middle to upper class Blacks who have not been adequately portrayed in the media. The title is simply hyperbole that is meant to get your attention and rouse you to watch the show. If you are black and have grown up in predominantly all whit communities you will get it. Get over yourself, naysayers.. Anyway I look forward to buying a season pass. Looks much more promising than Real Housewives of Hip-Hop/we are Divorced Garbage.

Really enjoyed this...

Speaking as the whitest white man on the planet in a mixed-race relationship... I really enjoyed this. Funny, smart & entertaining.

Not sure why the other two reviewers are being so negative. It's a lot of fun! Looking forward to seeing more.

Loooooooved it!!!

I am Black and I loved this show. I am not a sitcom person. Mostly, cause I am bored with only seeing a “token” representation of folks who look like me in them. Still…in 2014, for f*ks sake. Soooo, this show is refreshing. It’s funny. Anthony Anderson is looking as hot as ever. And Tracy Ross is such a treat to watch. What a great actress.

“Someone tell my hair and butt”…hahahaha…I am happy to see a black mainstream comedy on ABC and will gladly spend my money for the privilege. Just as I loved Margaret Cho’s comedic sitcom back in the day, I love this one. But most of all, it is just another HUMAN experience. And I am all for diverse HUMAN experiences.
