Longmire, Season 3HD

Wyoming Sheriff Walt Longmire is back in the saddle for a third thrilling season. After winning his heated re-election as Absaroka County sheriff vs. his ambitious deputy Branch Connally, Walt Longmire faces a stampede of problems both personal and professional. With Branch mysteriously shot on “the Rez” by the White Warrior spirit of a dead man and Henry arrested in connection to the murder of Walt’s wife’s killer, Longmire finds himself butting heads with tribal police, big money connections and longstanding feuds. Add to this his daughter Cady’s pursuit of the truth regarding her mother’s killer, his deputy Vic Moretti’s already strained marriage now under pressure with another unwelcome return from her Philadelphia past, and the inevitable rural undercurrent of murder, secrets and betrayal and get ready for Big Sky drama at its best. Last season, Walt and his deputies each braved a storm and did it nobly. But for every storm, there is an aftermath.

Customer Reviews

I love this show. Its a detective show set in Absaroka County, Wyoming.
The main character and the shows namesake is Sheriff Longmire, played by Australian actor, Robert Taylor (fabulous, classic cowboy style). He is a man of few words, sharp intelligence and a dry wit. A man with a troubled past that is revealed as the show progresses. Other characters to note. Henry Standing Bear played by Lou Diamond Phillips a close friend and ally of Longmire and Longmires deputy Vic Moretti played byKatee Sackoff. But the whole cast is good. I really like Longmirses nemesis, Zahn McClarnon who plays officer Mathius, of the Res police.
It's the tension between these two and the worlds they represent, that makes this show compelling viewing.I enjoy the stories that often take us onto the res and A lot of the stories do. It's rural, it's local. Unfortunately it's not actually shot in Wyoming but it still looks great. They shoot in New Mexico Santa Fe and Las Vegas. I've enjoyed it more and more as the characters and story lines develop. If you want to get out of LA, Canada shot of LA / NYC then, I recommend this show highly

Stereotypical depiction of native Americans

Watched the pilot and my stomach churned from the simplistic and stereotypical storyline. The depth of characters provided to the Sheriff and his team, vs. the basic depiction of the native Americans. The Sheriff and his moral high ground vs. the Native American prostitute pusher, corrupt Police chief, or aggressive policemen. The white daddy going to save his daughter from the evil prostitution ring she got pulled into by the evil Native Americans…. This is repulsive and the show should be banned.

Writer Change?

The first two seasons, though not stellar, haven’t been all that badly written. My question is, what happened to the prior seasons' writers? In this season, we have seen a simplistic portrayal of Christians, a strained and unrequited love between the main character and his female deputy, and in the latest episode very poor plot construction. Spoiler Alert: In the weekly carry over story, Henry is in a corrupt jail run by the inmates where the even the guards are in the employ of one of the prisoners. Coincidently, all of the guards are American Indians, and all of them are corrupt. Seems more than a little unlikely of an occurrence. Then, in the subplot, the husband/murderer, continues to advertise online for new children to “rehome” with he and his wife after having strangled to death his elder “rehomed” daughter. Wouldn’t it have been better to lie low and stay offline? What would their possible motivation have been to continue this behavior? Isn’t the only reason to continue this criminal behavior to enable Walt and his deputies to find and catch the bad guys? I hope the writing improves this season or I am going to be regretting that I purchased a season pass.
