The mission is a go. In the near future, a coed international crew of eight astronauts boards the spaceship Antares for a six-year interplanetary mission. With only limited help from Mission Control, it soon becomes apparent that these scientists and the crew aren’t just in deep space — they’re in even deeper than they could have imagined. Can old alliances and new attractions co-exist in the close quarters of a confined space ship? As a documentary crew aboard the ship broadcasts the astronauts’ every move to avid viewers on Earth, these brave men and women will come face to face with unexpected dangers, past secrets, and a hidden force aboard the ship that threatens to unravel their entire mission. Defying Gravity has emotional drama as thrilling as the intense action.

Ted struggles to take in the fact that Eve has known the truth all along. Eve recounts her long-ago experience as a young archeologist in Peru, when the Beta object was first uncovered from deep in the Earth, rising to meet her with a sound only she could hear. Defying Gravity Pilot(s)
Pleasant surprise to find an excellently written, acted and directed sci-fi series on...wait for it...network TV (ABC)! Elements of 2001, Event Horizon, BattleStar Galatica and Sphere combined to make a plausible plot; a 6 year mission exploring our own Solar System. But wait, top secret clearance only, something on Venus refered to as "it" and "beta" with strange events happening to the crew, a crew member that hears something no one else does, a cast of characters that can be developed... Hope this is so successful that he ends mindless reality TV and brings back intellectual entertainment. Contact ABC with your feedback. Let them know you like it. Remember, it was network TV that brought us the original Star Trek franchise.
thanks to itunes you should give it a try..
i really wasn't expecting to find myself watching this show but thanks to itunes i saw the free download and thought "Let's give it a shot" and thank god i did that cause i really enjoyed the story, the mystery and the cast... I'm looking forward for the next episode. I think you should give it a try.
This is not a science fiction series. It is a character driven drama in a science fiction setting. The producers of Defying Gravity have assembled a good ensemble cast. The scripts are well written without "dumbing down" for a network audience. I can't wait to see where they take the story from here. This could be my new favorite program. And it is good to see Charles Haid from the "Hill Street Blues" alumni again. Maybe they can find a way to write Daniel Travanti, Bruce Welker or Veronica Hamel into an episode.
