Excellent introduction to Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor.

Castrovalva is the best post regeneration stories of the 80s. Tom Baker departs as the Fourth Doctor and here we get a youthful, and handsome Fifth Doctor. His companions are still Tegan, Adric and Nyssa and in this story they face the Master. Something happens to Adric, so it is up to Tegan and Nyssa to get the ailing Doctor to Castrovalva where he should be able to recover from his regeneration.

It's a wonderfully written story, and one of the few to have things written out for the four crew members of the TARDIS. I believe they went with the three companions with the Doctor to try to get back what they did in the 60s with William Hartnell as the First Doctor. But sometimes it didn't work out as well. Castrovalva on the other hand, is one that did work. It's one of my favorites to my favorite Doctor that I grew up on, and Peter portrayed the Doctor marvelously. If you have not seen any of his episodes, start from the beginning with Castrovalva.

First full epi with fifth doctor !!!

I'm soo glad to see more classic episodes being added.

Trouble with the Doctor

I love the fact that a new Doctor Who Classic serial is available each quarter on iTunes, but…I have a major complaint: the episodes aren't tagged properly so none of them show up in the right order in your library. This applies to EVERY episode from the Classic Series. When is this going to get fixed?
