The L.A. Complex, Seasons 1 & 2HDTV-14

Description

The L.A. Complex focuses on a select group of aspiring performers pursuing celluloid and stardom in LA. Moving into an apartment-style motel for displaced dreamers, each dubbed “most likely to succeed”, they all face the challenges and opportunities of a lifetime. For every bona fide starlet, there are countless cocktail waitresses. For every true rock star, there are hundreds of buskers on the pier. For every comedian with a hit sitcom, there are dozens of guys cracking jokes while pouring your coffee. In LA your life can change in the blink of an eye. On Monday, you might score some face-time with the big-shot producer. On Tuesday, you might drink the night away, just to cope with the loneliness. On Wednesday, you might sign that multi-million dollar contract. On Thursday, you might try to sleep your way to the top, only to end up in the gutter. But one thing is for sure - on Friday, the rent is due. The six-episode first season of The L.A. Complex is executive produced by Linda Schuyler and Stephen Stohn of Epitome Pictures (Degrassi, Instant Star), showrun and executive produced by Martin Gero (Bored to Death).

Customer Reviews

It's LA, Baby!

L.A. Complex delivers exactly what it sets out to: a guilty pleasure. Especially in the last scene of this first episode. Which is refreshing, since I'm tired beyond belief with watching "Reality TV" and "talent shows." The cast, especially Chelan Simmons, is attractive and fresh--and they capture the LA that I see on my frequent visits to the US Entertainment Capitol. And it's nice to see that the writers have updated the "Melrose Place" formula to 21st Century sensibilities: multi-cultural friendships and relationships, friends-with-benefits, the influx of Canadians (and Australians?) in the US entertainment biz, the success-without-talent in showbiz, and an under-current of selfishness that rings true with today's twentysomtthings. I hope LA Complex lasts at least one full season…I'll watch. Especially the up-coming episodes that will feature Krista Allen--an actress who probably knows this experience all to well.

This is good

I love this show I watched it on the cw and it was a very good show

Juicy!

The LA. Complex takes a juicy spin on Melrose, but somehow creates its own stardom!
From Canadian Producers of the hit show "Degrassi: The Next Generation" comes somewhat of a spin off of what Manny Santos was trying to accomplish.
And boy is it a ride! It is well acted, well written, and juicy as can be!
Don't pass on this one, the CW was smart to pick it up!
It has all the elements a TV show needs. Drama, comedy, and a little romance.
Most will come for Cassie Steele (Abby) but after the first couple episodes, you'll be coming for the entire show!
BTW: The season pass INCLUDES the next batch of episodes airing this summer too!
