THE TUDORS will present the rarely dramatized, tumultuous early years of King Henry VIII’s nearly 40-year, omnipotent reign (1509-1547) of England. In addition to his famous female consorts and 20+ year marriage to Catherine of Aragon and the infamous dalliance with Anne Boleyn, the series delves into Henry’s most notable political relationship and the deconstruction of the Roman Catholic Church in England.

Customer Reviews

Highy Addictive -- But Don't Expect Much Historical Accuracy

Left Brain: Wait, the names are correct, but it's not quite right. Isn't Henry too young? Too wiry? Too one-dimensional? Everyone's ignoring court protocol and bouncing around on their own terms. It sounds familiar but the notes are different somehow. Right Brain: Who cares? Henry is hot. Anne is awesome. The costumes ROCK. Shut up and enjoy the ride. It's TV.

If you like historical fiction, you'll love this series, but this series has something to offer anyone -- action, intrigue, politics, and sex (plenty of sex). This is definitely not for children. Catch Season 1 now before Season 2 starts later this year.

history light, for sure.

rather inaccurate at times but very entertaining. mary doyle kennedy is a gem! absolutely the best catherine of aragon to date. her performance during the trial makes the series worth watching.
