For years, the government has been relocating the world's geniuses (and their families) to the picturesque Pacific Northwest town of Eureka, where daily life straddles the line between unprecedented innovation and total chaos. US Marshal Jack Carter finds this out firsthand when he wrecks his car and becomes stranded there. After the town's eccentric inhabitants unleash a scientific creation still unknown to the outside world, Carter steps in to restore order and consequently is let in on one of our country's best-kept secrets. From unrequited love to professional jealousy, from addiction to depression, the problems of Eureka's townsfolk grow from life's everyday challenges. But with the population's unique talents, troubled psyches, and limitless resources, these small-town concerns have a way of becoming big-time problems. It is at that intersection, where human frailty and super-science collide, that Eureka begins.

review from an actual Eureka resident!

This show is quite brilliant. As a longtime fan of the X-files, Northern Exposure, and a few of the Star Trek series, I got hooked from moment one. It is truly a genius amalgamation of the taboo sci-fi mind-boggles of the X-files and the witty eccentrcities of the loveable characters of NE. Furthermore, I love the fact that this show is based in a small pacific northwest town of Eureka, when guess what? I live in the pacific northwest city of Eureka, California...and I can say that I would rather live in the small and quaint city Eureka with the eccentric citizens depicted in the show more than blah, real-life Eureka. In any case, the show is terrific and I look forward to seeing more people discover this shining jem of a show!

I'll be the first to admit that i was a little skeptical of this show. A former US Marshal turned Police Chief for a small "Secret" town he accidentally ran across after the "local hazzard" wrecked their car. But i have to also admit that i was more stunned than anything else by not only the realistic portions and ideals this show has, but also the humor in it all! the new sherrif trying to make grips in a town that has more sectrets than President Bush 's administration! lol. Eureka is one for the ages and shouldn't be overlooked. Those who say this show is a bad one doesn't like a quick turn around from an entire day in a season or being lost on an island. Jack Carter gets himself lost in a small scientific town complete with advanced weaponry, the amazing secrets of "Section 5" and death rays. Litterally. It's not your typical sci-fi series, but it's a great one to come! While i don't see this series lasting as long as Stargate SG-1 has, it'll be on for all to enjoy for at least the next 6 seasons! Get yourself involved in Section 5 by joining the Eureka movement! lol. You won't regret it!!

I was totally surprised!

I only downloaded the Pilot because it was free, and half way thru I purchased the rest of the episodes. It was that good. When you consider that Sci-Fi puts out both Stargates, Battlestar Galactica and now Eureka, it really is one of the best networks on TV. Thanks for putting the Pilot up for free, you got me hooked!
