Promising

Who knows it could turn out to be a "LOST" or a "Flash Forward" show.

The Next Big Event?

Looks promising. Hope it delivers and isn't cancelled like other 'promising' shows (aka Flashforward).

My theory is "The Event" = "The Happening" by M. Night Shamwow

Seriously, any show that resorts to repeat the show's name over a dozen times in one commercial isn't going to make it. "The Event" already annoys me, and I don't care about what it is. And it does sound like M. Shyamalan's movie 'The Happening." Which I didn't see because people kept yapping about "The Happening" in the commercial, and I knew I didn't want to find out what it was. And I'm sure, what ever "The Event" is, well we've seen it before. My guess, either nuclear war, apocalypse/significant natural disaster, aliens, something involving other dimensions, space travel, or something that triggers a war. We've seen it all before.

The fact of the matter is that NBC, after taking a serious blow in rankings, and not having any success in the drama department, decided to grasp the more risky television shows for this years line up. As everyone hopes they get a "Lost". But the fact is, that NBC is desperate, and after losing Conan, they've been on a downfall. And it will get worse, because "Chuck", "30 Rock" and "The Office" aren't the heavy hitters they used to be (not that Chuck ever was a heavy hitter). The only show that will remain popular and weighs about all of the rest is the reality show "Biggest Loser." Pun not intended, still not going to erase it after typing it.

I gave a rating of two stars because I am sure the show will be mildly entertaining, just not quality.
