Manic, arrogant, sycophantic and sadistic, Basil Fawlty is the perfect vehicle for John Cleese’s comic brilliance. Basil is a much put-upon, hard-working hotel manager whose life is plagued by dead guests, hotel inspectors and riffraff. Of course his biggest headache is his 'little nest of vipers' — his nagging wife Sibyl (Prunella Scales). Together they run their hotel, Fawlty Towers, with a little help from the unflappable Polly (Connie Booth), and Manuel (Andrew Sachs), the trainee waiter from Barcelona with marginally more intelligence than a monkey. Everyone loves Fawlty Towers — except the poor, abused guests. Since that memorable mid 1970s evening when Basil first snarled and smarmed at his customers, it has become cult viewing in 61 countries world-wide, and has won 3 BAFTA awards.

What a Masterpiece
This is a powerhouse addition to the itunes library of classics. Only 12 episodes were ever recorded, yet each can be viewed repeatedly without any staleness. Certain liscense was taken with individual characters that most likely would not be acceptable today, yet the timeless humor of this classic remains untouched. This is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE.....now all thats left is for itunes to bring us Monty Python's Flying Circus in all its glory
One of the funniest shows created
Fawlty Towers is another 5 star performance from John Cleese. Cleese did the world a friggin service when he came up with the idea for Fawlty Towers. This show is easily one of the funniest shows on earth and never gets old, no matter how many times you watch it. The best part about this is, for once the itunes store is ridiculously cheap instead of ridiculously expensive. The full Fawlty Towers collection on dvd costs around $60 for seasons 1 and 2...thats only 12 episodes. itunes offers it for about $20, which is awesome. BUY THIS SHOW!!!
