After centuries of sinful bloodshed, Nicholas Knight has forsaken immortality and is determined to reclaim his humanity. He now spends his nights as a homicide detective with his smug partner, Donald Schanke, fighting the city's most brutal crimes. Joining in Nicholas' quest is Dr. Natalie Lambert, a brilliant forensic scientist, who is inching closer to the cure for his supernatural condition. The master vampire Lucien LaCroix, however, will stop at nothing to ensure that Nicholas remains a vampire. In his darkest moments, Nicholas turns to the lovely vampire Janette, who offers him unconditional loyalty despite her prominent standing in the vampire underworld. As the stakes get higher and his path to redemption becomes burdened with temptations, Nicholas valiantly sets out to conquer his curse night after night.

Forever Knight!?! Wow! Deja Vous...

It has been a while since I left Canada and Canadian TV programming and it's probably been even longer since this show first ran (2001 according to the imDb). This show introduced me to Geriant Wyn Davies who plays the character of Nicholas Knight and went on to 'star' in a few other CBC television shows including "Black Harbour". I like him as an actor and enjoyed his performance in the show. I think the actor who seemed to be the most outstanding in the show was Nigel Bennett who played Lacroix. His character by far was the most vibrant of the show, the one with the most 'life' (and for an undead that's very impressive!!!). Check his Lacroix and see who he reminds you of in his performance. I liked the premise of the show and watched it quite regularily for some time. However, like a few other Canadian tv series, I always wondered if it could have been done better by the American networks. Canadian tv tends to always look a little cheap when it comes to these kind of shows. I think comedies are more our forte. If you are a fan of vampire related shows (Blade, etc), it's a fairly good watch. If you enjoy watching others experience guilt, remorse and angst about life, or unlife, then it's also a good show. And of course if you are from the Toronto area and want to see parts of your hometown, what the heck!

Very well made

I loved this show when it aired and watched it religiously. It managed to combine a Vampire, Detective and a bit of sex violence and drama all into one. That being said, the price tag on a season of a show that has been canceled for years and get physical media for $31.64 on Amazon is a bit steep, I would just order it there and not have to worry about backups.

Pretty good show

FYI other reviewer-Current amazon price is $48-on sale from $59. Anyway, on to the show. Definitely can tell it's a Canadian produced show from the slightly cheesy production values, bad guys that don't come across as really bad and almost sub-par acting. What puts this over the top is the overall plot and the actor who plays LaCroix. His monologues as the nightcrawler are spectacular. Don't expect Angel, but give it a chance if you liked that show.
