Michael Kitchen stars as Detective Chief Inspector Christopher Foyle in this original PBS Masterpiece Theatre mystery series. Set in the beautiful southern English countryside amid the disorder and danger of World War II, Foyle's War takes place far from the glory of the front. His is an ordinary struggle-against everyday evil-in extraordinarily dangerous times.

Possibly the best detective series on television. The fact that it takes place during WWII makes it even more interesting. Michael Kitchen is terrific as Foyle as is Honeysuckle Weeks as Sam Stewart. The authenticity of the set, costumes, wartime hardships is incredible. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching it.
Appears Acorn has locked up the streaming on this. Shame. Excellent title. I would prefer to have it in HD with the rest of my library on iTunes.
1 star for SD, 1 star for only 3 sets (of 9 and counting). Go buy discs from Amazon.
