Description

Hannah and her friends are just four girls trying to figure out what they want--from life...from men...from themselves. From actor/writer/director Lena Dunham and comedy veterans Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner comes this one-of-a-kind comedy series that follows these 20-somethings struggling through their post-collegiate years in New York City. A contemporary coming-of-age comedy, 'Girls' focuses on Hannah (played by Dunham) as she works to become a successful writer in the wake of being cut off financially by her parents. Fortunately, she's not alone as she leans on three close friends for support--Marnie (Allison Williams), Jessa (Jemima Kirke), and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet)--in this intimate and often-comical look at friendship, relationships and self-discovery.

Customer Reviews

In spite of Lena Dunham, not because of.

Lena Dunham let the success of the first season go right to her head, and became a self important annoying ugly noise that I tried to block out while I enjoyed the interesting characters of Zosia Mamet, Adam Driver, and Allison Williams as much as possible the rest of the seasons. As the series went on, Lena pulled in her untalented friends and pushed her personal opinions and poisoned what could have been a decent series.
