Open iTunes to preview or buy TV shows.

On Hangar 1, for the first time ever, H2® has been given complete access to all the case files and physical evidence collected by The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). Founded in 1969, MUFON is the most respected organization dedicated to investigating and classifying UFO activity, with field offices in 42 countries, over 800 local investigators and more than 30,000 case files. Now, all of MUFON’s files have been assembled in an abandoned location in Ohio called Hangar 1. The files, along with stories of UFO sightings, will shed new light on presidential cover-ups, blackouts and other disasters, and even rogue technology.

Finally a Standard UFO Documentary Series

After the venerable documentary series “UFO Files” stopped producing new episodes for the History Channel, it seems like follow-up efforts all wanted to jump on the reality show bandwagon. UFO Hunters and Chasing UFOs are two that come to mind and the formula was always the same: a ragtag team of investigators would investigate UFO encounters, in a courageous and dangerous effort to get to the truth.

Unfortunately, the “truth” in these new UFO hows was more an exercise in sensationalism disguised as entertainment, dead ends, carefully edited “danger”, “personalities” as investigators and slick editing, where even the most mundane points were turned into “oh my gosh!” moments punctuated with the proper sound effect-exclamation. The only thing new discovered about the the UFO cases in these shows was how cool their night vision equipment was. Seriously, did anyone watching expect them to actually discover anything earth shattering in their investigations? If they had, the media would have learned about it months ago and it would have been all over the news long before the episode was completed and aired. So, there was never any drama or surprises, despite the producer’s best efforts to sell them that way.

Fortunately, “Hanger 1: The UFO Files” returns to its fore-bearer’s tried and true standard documentary format - talking heads and recreations about UFO incidents and topics. Even the “UFO Files” part made it into the name, which is a good thing. “Hanger 1” does not try to solve the UFO riddle like previous “investigation” shows tried and failed at. It simply is a basic UFO informational documentary and, for me personally at least, its good to finally see some non-sensational UFO documentaries come out. Another show, “Unsealed,” had come out in the last year or so as well, but it is far too sensationalistic and over-the-top. Not to mention some of its questionable conclusions.

And yet another, the popular “Ancient Aliens”, can be interesting at times, but they “reach” far too often in linking aliens with ancient man’s activities, and its hard to take the show’s conclusions too seriously. “Hanger 1”, on the other hand, is much more down to earth and enjoyable than any of those other shows, due to its low-key approach.

Whether you buy into the UFO controversy or not, if you are interested in watching some of the history of the UFO topic, “Hanger 1: The UFO Files” is one of the best efforts in years.

good stuff

best UFO show I've seen in awhile I would also recommend watching "close encounters" from the science channel I got a few episodes into that and it was amazing but now iTunes says it's not available in USA half way thru season...ugh but would defiantly recommend this show for anyone interested in UFO information I think it's well done and I enjoy the style of the show and how everything is presented to you.

If MUFON ever had credibility, this series erodes it!

I am disappointed in the way that these cases are portrayed with sensationalism and outlandish assumptions. I used to believe that MUFON tried to be a scientific organization with an objective approach to the UFO phenomenon, but now more. I among others are extremely disappointed. Watchers beware!
