Alex and Dave’s wedding was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives, for them and their long-time friends... until Alex left groom-to-be Dave at the altar. The breakup was a “huge game-changer” that complicated everyone’s lives and made everyone question their own choices. Alex and Dave were the glue that kept their urban family together: Alex’s sister Jane, a suburban housewife, and her buttoned-up husband Brad; Max, their perpetually underemployed gay friend; and Penny, who worries about never finding the right guy. A year later, this gang is still friends, although Alex and Dave are trying to figure out just where their relationship stands. Penny is convinced that 2011 will be “The Year of Penny,” and she starts things off by buying her dream condo. She’ll also be getting a new roommate when Alex moves in. Max may make the biggest change of all when he does something his friends never thought he’d do... get a steady job.

Seriously Great Television. And it
This is the kind of show that makes me think there are smart people out there in America - somewhere. Shows like Happy Endings, Damages, Game of Thrones, Samantha Who?, Better Off Ted, Dexter, Weeds, Glee, and SyFy's Battlestar Galactica all mark high points in American television with intelligent, thoughtful writing that doesn't play down to its audience. I just wish there were more programs like these and especially like Happy Endings. These are real people that I know living in a world I can relate to. It's beyond the coffee clutch of Friends and outpaces the camaraderie of Seinfeld.
Thank you producers David Caspe, Jamie Tarses, Jonathan Groff, Anthony Russo, and Joe Russo for such great TV.
Love this show!
