Family Ties, Season 5TV-PGClosed Captioning

Open iTunes to preview or buy TV shows.

The fifth season of Family Ties begins with Alex objecting to the teaching style at Andrew's elite pre-school ("Be True to Your Preschool"). Later, after Ellen leaves for Paris, Alex is on the rebound ("Starting Over") and deals with more drama in his love life when he jeopardizes his career at a bank after he falls for his boss ("Beauty and the Bank"). His love life continues to get intertwined with his work when his boss makes a pass at him while on a business trip in Chicago ("A Tale of Two Cities, Parts 1 & 2"). Meanwhile, Mallory's love life is no less complicated when her family tries to stop her and Nick from eloping ("Mrs. Wrong, Parts 1 & 2"). Other highlights of the season include Alex's questioning the meaning of life after his friend dies in a car accident ("A, My Name is Alex, Parts 1 & 2") and, on a lighter note, the Keatons' own battle of the sexes ("Battle of the Sexes, Parts 1 & 2"). The season concludes when Jennifer feels out of place at her own thirteenth birthday party ("It's My Party, Parts 1 & 2").
