Description

In one of the most beloved TV Western series of all times, the Macahan family faces the untamed frontier. Based on the epic film, this sprawling epic of the Old West is both a rousing action saga and a moving family chronicle. Gunsmoke legend James Arness stars as Zeb Macahn, a mountain man accustomed to the harsh realities of frontier life; his sister-in-law, Kate (Academy Award® winner Eva Marie Saint), alone since her husband’s death, struggles to maintain a home for her family; and Kate’s eldest son, Luke (Bruce Boxleitner), pursued by the law for deserting the Union Army. Their stories play out against a realistic recreation of the post-Civil War-era American West in that dusty, hard-hitting period when laws were often broken and progress was charted by individual suffering and survival. Saddle up for one of the most exciting rides in television history.
