The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Season 1TV-PGClosed Captioning

Open iTunes to preview or buy TV shows.

Description

Over its seven-year run, The Mary Tyler Moore Show won 29 Emmy® Awards, more than any other comedy in television history. Now get ready to turn back the dial to 1970 and rejoin the gang from WJM — the lowest-rated (but most hilarious) evening news show in Minneapolis. Relive all the laughter with Mary, Lou, Murray, Ted, and Rhoda in the first season of this classic TV show!

HOW ABOUT SOME ACTUAL PREVIEWS?

Every single preview for Season 1 is the same: the opening credits only! How are we to select an episode to purchase, when the preview shows nothing of the actual episode? C'mon iTunes, that's just lazy. How many times do we need to see Mary throw her hat up into the air?

One Of The Most Important Sitcoms -- Thank ITunes

An extremely important sitcom. Before 1970, few sitcoms dealt with real situations like family, friends and work. TV was full of slapstick and stuff with laugh tracks. MTM came along and changed everything. It was done in front of an audience and dealt with modern people who spoke like real people. Rhoda and Mary became cultural icons. It is hard to believe that this show stirred lots of controversy in 1970 because of its candor and the fact that the characters where real people -- not witches, genies or hillbillies in Beverly Hills.

<3 this!!

I LOVE this tv show!! it's old but hysterically funny. it's about mary richards who moves to minneappolis and gets a job as an associate producer at a news station. she lives in the same apartment building as her 2 best friends, and works with some pretty wacky people. it's very funny to see how the characters deal with the ongoing problems that come up in their lives. I would recommend this for anyone who likes a good funny tv show.
