There's another addiction out there that most people have never even heard of — more insidious, but with the same devastating consequences. It afflicts roughly 6% of the American population, and fame and fortune don't make you immune to it. In fact, stardom just seems to fan the flames. It's called sex addiction. Now, for the first time, VH1 and the producers behind Celebrity Rehab will shed light on this oft-dismissed compulsion on Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew. Aided a team of the nation's foremost sexual addiction experts, Dr. Drew will guide eight new patients from the worlds of entertainment and sports through one of the most intensive, real-life detox and treatment programs in the world. Living together for 21 days, they'll meet with Dr. Drew in one-on-one and group therapy sessions to get to the bottom of their compulsive behavior, with cameras documenting every moment . . . every breakdown . . . and every breakthrough.

I am moved by this show.
I still find it fascinating how your childhood can deeply effect your adulthood. I thank Dr. Drew and the people of this show for bringing this into the light. I mean yes it may sound crazy because how can having too much sex be a bad thing? I see now that it can be if it is used as a way to mask deep trauma. This show lets you see just how out of control you can get when you don't deal with your childhood issues or traumatic experiences. I can identify with several of the people and it has open my eyes and made me think that I may possibly have this type of addiction as well. I will continue to watch it.
Dr. Drew keepin it real.
And his co-chick is wearing pants too.
I've watched this season twice. On second viewing I realize how critical a role the resident techs play, and think the Selma character was a horrible choice to run the unit: harassing, sarcastic and a little combative. I.e. since when does a resident tech take it upon themselves to take the blankets off a patient to wake them up? Weird. Was glad when Drew dismissed her, Shelley is an excellent tech.
