What would you do if a mysterious person gave you a briefcase containing tens of thousands of dollars and told you it's yours if you can hide it from high-level investigators for 48 hours? That's what happens to ordinary citizens in this high-adrenaline reality series from the producers of The Amazing Race. A covert agent contacts a pair of everyday people and directs them to an iconic public location in their city. The contestants — unaware of what is to be asked of them — then receive a money-filled case, a getaway car and a cell phone, and told they have one hour to hide the cash, after which they will be "apprehended" and questioned by two real-life interrogators. While detained, two local detectives hunt for the briefcase, using information from the interrogation and other evidence. The clock ticks … the clues pile up … and time runs out. If the players are able to keep the briefcase hidden, they get to keep the money! It’s an edge-of-your-seat spy thriller ... and it’s real.

Once the hour is up, they're taken into custody by local San Francisco police detectives Cliff Cook and Dean Taylor and brought to investigative headquarters. Over the next 48 hours, the detectives will work with professional interrogators - Detective Paul Bishop, a high-ranking detective specializing in sex crimes for a major metropolitan police department, who has twice been honored as Detective of the Year, and Deputy District Attorney and best-selling author Mary Hanlon Stone - to combine efforts and determine the location of the briefcase. The only hard information they will have to go on are cell phone records, any receipts they can find and the GPS coordinates from the players' car. This show was great!! I loved everything about this show. It is a must see!
this show is pretty interesting and surprisingly funny at times. a decent show to watch on a slow summer day
I'm gonna ruin the first episode for you: the found the money because one of the "criminals" cracked under the pressure of the interrogation. Really?! All you had to do was stay quiet for 2 days!
I just don't get this show. The way the investigators find the money is just stupid. What is this show really supposed to showcase? I won't be watching another episode.
Another ABC Fail.
