I really like the gentile nature of this show and the ambiguity of the main characters. It is intelligent, funny, witty, and clever. Follows a formula, but it's a good one.
An excellent end season to an excellent series
I've watched the Masterpiece Mystery series for years, and I especially love Lewis. The foil of Inspector Lewis vs. Hathaway might seem to be a bit of a conceit, but works well. Season Five's episode "The Dead of Winter" is when this series really hits its stride. I am sad that Season Six is the final one, but it is understandable given how long Kevin Whateley has been playing Robbie Lewis. Well done Kevin. Congratulations on so many successful years in a brilliant character. And now we have the new Morse prequel series "Endeavour" to look forward to. Would that John Thaw had lived to see that. I think he would have been secretly pleased while outwardly grumpy. :)
Five Big Stars....
For the chemistry between Robbie and Laura and Robbie and James. It sounds corny but I really like those characters and how they work together, almost makes you forget there was foul play
