Love Skins!

Yes!! First gen is finally back on ITunes. So happy! :')

Best series thus far

Many people in their reviews of the various series of Skins note that the over-arching generations each follow a two-act structure: the first series (or season) is all about the reckless abandon, while the second is all about consequences of those actions and the real growing up. Maybe it's in part that this was the generation that I'm the same age as, or maybe it was the shock that such stories were told— but so few shows are brave enough to show the damage of our actions. I have always enjoyed the second act of these stories; always though that the second series of each generation made up for some of the silliness and stupidity of what came before, and this series is the best. Series 7, which consists of three two-part episodes has so-far continued the pattern, though "Fire didn't introduce any silly gangster or other rubbish (I've yet to watch the first part of "Pure"), but I so far like that they continued the two-act structure to some extent. That pattern was started by this series, started by young writers who looked around and saw that growing up isn't all fun and games… This is the series that solidified it as being a relevant show to our generation, something that we can relate to.
