Description

"Edgemont" doesn't shy away from serious issues, but the 'big stuff' is balanced with the stuff of everyday life: the compelling arc of friendships and love-relationships, the warmth of solidarity and the shock of betrayal, the wistful quest for identity and belonging, the D-minus that ruins your life and the smile-across-a-crowded-hallway that makes it suddenly worth living again, the crunch as a pipe-dream collides with reality and the rush as you dream up a better one. The series is driven by an ensemble cast, although many of the first season storylines revolve around three central characters: Mark, Jennifer and Laurel. Mark is more than Jennifer’s boyfriend. He’s also her best friend - and now he's falling hard for the new girl, Laurel. He can see disaster coming like a train-wreck, but he can't seem to get off the tracks. His sister Kat is blazingly bright, and angrier than anyone realizes. Craig, Mark's long-time pal has become an Anarchist, which partly explains why Mark's other buddy, Scott, has decided to become a Druid, except mainly Scott is trying to impress Brenda, his latest crush, with his spirituality (it’s complicated). Anika, the 'Queen Bee' hates Laurel - she's competition. Erin, Anika's handmaiden, hates Anika (sometimes), and both Anika and Erin have a thing for Chris who's sexy, savvy and not to be trusted!
