Great New Show - Interesting Style

Flapjack is a young boy raised in a talking whale named Bubbie. Flapjack leads a peaceful life until the duo rescue a pirate by the name of Captain K'nuckles, who tells Flapjack of Candied Island. Inspired by the adventurous pirate, Flapjack, Captain K'nuckles, and Bubbie get into strange predicaments and "misadventures" in search of Candied Island and the coveted title of "Adventurer." The three spend most of their time in Stormalong Harbor, where they earn money, eat candy, and get into misadventures. The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack is an American animated television series for Cartoon Network that premiered on June 5, 2008. The show was created by cartoonist Mark "Thurop" Van Orman, who has worked as a writer and storyboard artist on other shows such as Camp Lazlo and The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. I think it's a really funny new show. At first glance, one might write it off as a Spongebob copy, but once you watch a couple episodes, you quickly realize that's definitely not the case. A show with an eccentric main character and a nautical theme doesn't equal Spongebob. It has a very unique style. A little bit of the cartoon + random stop motion like Chowder stuff, but it also has an interesting animation and background style that I've never seen before. It's a bit like something you'd see in the 1800's or something. The main characters are cartoony, but everyone else is sometimes drawn in a more realistic style. I think it's a very good show once you give it a chance and might one day be considered a classic.

I'm fifteen and I watch this.

My little brother is six years old and hates it, but to me, it's like Spongebob, but good. It's a really good little get-a-way for kids any age and the animation and voices are really original. I will continue watching this show religiously, it's hilarious!

On its way to being a CULT CLASSIC

This isn't the first episode, Cartoon Network did a bunch of "shorts" to give people a sence of what it is. So far so good and I believe its on its way to being a cult classic like Invader Zim, Foster's Home etc., etc. A good comedy with darker undertones. It's not like Spongebob with its bright humor but I believe everyone will like it.
