This new restaurant series introduces Giles Coren, the bitingly funny and controversial restaurant critic of The London Times, to North America. It’s said that a positive review from the vigorous writer is worth a million dollars and that his words can change the fates and fortunes of the restaurants he visits. With help from his researcher Julia Pileggi, in each episode the host samples meals from five worthy restaurants and thrusts one lucky winner into the limelight by giving them his million-dollar review.

Thanks from Philly!
Great show! I happen to be from Philadelphia, and yes, we have AMAZING restaurants. What I really liked about this show was the fact that he chose to go to restaurants that are more on the fringe of the culinary scene. It was a wonderful way for establishments that aren’t necessarily considered “stars” in the Philly food scene to gain some press and recognition. He’s also completely adorable and charming, and that doesn’t hurt..
I find this show to be fantastic. As a professional chef, I have been raised to hate critics, but I appreciate his humor and point of view.
