EPISODE 2
Ultimate MythBusters
What does it take to be the Ultimate MythBuster? What attributes do you need to bust a myth? Every day on MythBusters, Jamie and Adam put themselves and their skills to the test in the pursuit of answers to myths. One key to myth busting is the ability to problem solve. How do you find a needle in a haystack? How do you make thousands of ping-pong balls sink below the water’s surface? How do you train a goldfish to swim through a maze? The MythBusters reflect on these successes before tackling a new problem solving challenge. How do you drop an egg from twenty five feet up and stop it from breaking? As Adam will loudly attest, another vital myth busting attribute is the ability to withstand pain. In the course of the show, they’ve been blown up, burnt, pierced, poked, scratched and shocked. But now, a stinging new test. Who can take more pain – Jamie or Adam? Building is an essential component of a MythBuster’s skills. In almost every show, they have to create from scratch a machine or device that’s never been seen before. It is a constant test of their creative talents and construction abilities. For Ultimate MythBuster, there’s a new challenge – who can make a machine to throw a tortilla the furthest? In addition to these skills, the MythBusters are also graded on their guesswork, memory and ability to overcome fear. The outcome is a revealing insight into what Jamie and Adam each brings to workbench and why together they are the Ultimate MythBusters.
