Last season, Adam and Kristina got a (mostly) happy surprise when Kristina became pregnant. They already have a full plate dealing with a teenage daughter and a son with Asperger's Syndrome. So, a new baby... whew! Julia and Joel, unable to have another child of their own, have decided to adopt. They can't help but be a bit jealous about Adam and Kristina's news. Sarah is fast approaching 40 and doing it all on her own - working, dating and raising two kids. If only she could move out of her parents' home - life would be grand, wouldn't it? Crosby and Jasmine are at a crossroads in their relationship - do they have what it takes to stay together as a couple? Or will custody be the only thing that they share? Whether it's growing up, growing older or growing apart... life is always interesting with the Bravermans.

Thankfully, quality television is not completely extinct

This time last year, I became completely invested in the CW drama "Life Unexpected", only to watch it get cancelled in January after only 26 episodes. For a long time after that, I was furious and left wondering if anything substantial could last in today's world of television. Then, about a week ago, I revisited "Parenthood" after not being impressed with the pilot episode when it first aired...and all I can say is that I can't believe what I've been missing. Simply stated, this is the series to start watching if you crave the kind of TV that existed before sex and vampires started taking over. You know what I'm talking about--the kind of stuff with likable people, real-life situations, and (gasp!) actual storylines. Shows like "Parenthood" sometimes struggle to find their footing with such a large cast and various subplots to juggle, but once you get to know the Bravermans, you will be completely hooked on watching one episode after another. I admit I was attracted to this series in the first place because of Lauren Graham, a personal favorite who shined on "Gilmore Girls" and is also fantastic here as well-intentioned, yet flawed single mother (although lacking much of the confidence, self-motivation, and coffee addiction of Lorelai Gilmore). Of course, with an ensemble cast that includes the never-faltering Craig T. Nelson and young Mae Whitman (whose acting chops put her adolescent contemporaries to absolute shame), Graham is only one small fraction of the story, and the more I've watched, the more I've grown to adore the other characters, as well. In particular, I really empathize with Adam and Kristina, who struggle to handle a rebellious teenage daughter, an elementary-aged son with Asperger's, and now an unexpected pregnancy that will change their lives even more this season. The writers and actors do an excellent job of portraying multiple parenting styles and situations without falling into stereotypes. Also, the show does not apologize for being sensitive and heartwarming (a genuine rarity in our society), yet it holds itself up with honesty about what it means to be part of a family and raise children of various ages, personalities, and needs. I am thrilled that "Parenthood" has earned a third season and hopeful that it will continue to do well. Give it a try if you (like me) miss the days when television used to have heart. They may be hard to find, but there are still writers and creators who are passionate about telling real stories, and I can't wait to watch this one unfold!

Love! Love! Love!

I'm not gonna lie, I adore this show! The pilot was a little rocky but once I got to know the Bravermans I couldn't wait for the next episode and was thrilled when I saw that a third season was coming. Even though Lauren Graham, an amazing actress who I loved in Gilmore Girls, was the only reason I download the pilot because I was thrilled she was in another show, I have fallen in love with the whole cast. It is refreshing to see a show with a realistic story and no vampires. I can't wait until the next episode airs!

I love this show. It is the only show I watch religously. I have to admit I was really scared the show would get canceled because everything has been bombing lately. I have watched this show since it aired and I hope its popularity sky rockets so I can keep getting my fix of the Bravermans. This show is so real life and fun to watch. I look forward to every tuesday night!
