Lived up to the hype

Coming into this season, I was nervous that the premiere wouldn't live up to all the hype it was getting all summer. But it rose above and beyond my expectations. I look forward to how Castle and Beckett are going to keep these secrets from each other and still try to form some sort of relationship. Two thumbs way up for the cast, crew and brilliant writers!

The season premiere was GREAT!!! Been waiting for this premiere more than any other show I watch, since the finale, once again, for the second year in a row. Really excited to see how this years' secrets play out. Kinda surprised that they didn't change the picture for this season. I know there is one, but It doesn't make sense as to why iTunes would use the same picture from season 3 for season 4. Odd.

First of all, the preview for Rise is hilarious. If that was all you had seen, you would basically freak out. You see Kate Beckett flatline and hear the doctor draw in his breath after her dad asks if she's okay, come on!

But other than that, Castle is a great show with a lot of potential. It also has a lot of issues to overcome. It's the same formula every show uses; a guy and girl (destined to be together, but pretty reluctant), an infinite number of conflicts (Josh, this "wall" Beckett has, her mother's murder, the new captain, the list goes on and on), and great sidekicks (Ryan, Esposito, Alexis, Lanie, Martha)! What makes Castle stand out is that it's lovable. It's more familial than most shows, it has great dialogue, and as a viewer, you feel like you're apart of the crime solving team.

I'm looking forward to this season. I'm worried about the show's status as a dramedy (Comedy/Drama), for the first two seasons, it was lighthearted. Season three got quite heavier and what I've seen of season four, it's taken a darker turn it can never come back from.

In one final thought; this show has made me cry, it's made me laugh, I've wanted to strangle characters at some points, but every Monday, I sit down in front of the television with high expectations that are always met. Monday's are the most dreaded day of the week, but watching Castle makes the day a bit better.
