A little cheese with a big heart.
To be clear, Cannavale is no Piven. As a fan of the original run of Cupid I was snug and warm with the rest of the critics about the new premiere of an old fave. I watched the beginning of the pilot with a clear decision made that this piece of "fluff" was destined for downfall...but I was wrong. You can't help but find yourself submerged in the story. Cannavale's Cupid is lovable, likeable, and you can't help but want to cheer him on. Half way through the pilot I was leaned into the screen watching the episode's "couple in crisis" with baited breath. Would they get together? Would Cupid get his match? I also couldn't help but find a relatable character with Paulson's Dr. Claire. Sure she's the bad cop to Cannavale's good, but what successful series doesn't have this element in the mix? Not to mention the potential between the two leads. Here's hoping that Cupid has better luck the second time around.
This is my first time to ever write a review, this show is truly heart felt and gave me the urge to spend a mintue of my time just let others know that it is GREAT. I know no one will ever really read it but o well at least I put it out there!
