Get a love life. That's all Cupid wants, and love's main man is in Manhattan to make it happen. Cupid, a.k.a. Trevor Hale, insists that he is the god of love, banished from Mount Olympus until he can match 100 new couples. Psychologist and renowned relationship expert, Dr. Claire Allen, can't believe her newest patient is a heart specialist, instead suspecting hes a head case who lost it after losing his one true love. As Dr. Allen continues to study Trevor for clues to his past, she is amazed as week after week Trevor manages to make new love matches. And while she may not always agree with Trevor's crazy methods, even Dr. Allen can't deny his results. So whether you're a hopeless romantic, or just a hopeful cynic, Cupid will take you on a wildly romantic journey as a new couple comes together each week to find true love.

A little cheese with a big heart.

To be clear, Cannavale is no Piven. As a fan of the original run of Cupid I was snug and warm with the rest of the critics about the new premiere of an old fave. I watched the beginning of the pilot with a clear decision made that this piece of "fluff" was destined for downfall...but I was wrong. You can't help but find yourself submerged in the story. Cannavale's Cupid is lovable, likeable, and you can't help but want to cheer him on. Half way through the pilot I was leaned into the screen watching the episode's "couple in crisis" with baited breath. Would they get together? Would Cupid get his match? I also couldn't help but find a relatable character with Paulson's Dr. Claire. Sure she's the bad cop to Cannavale's good, but what successful series doesn't have this element in the mix? Not to mention the potential between the two leads. Here's hoping that Cupid has better luck the second time around.
