One of the Too Few Like No Other Drama Series

Because I’m not great with words I suggest you google What’s Alan watching to read a very good writer’s critical review of Rectify. This show is about a man who may have been wrongly accused of committed murder. But the story isn’t about if he did it or not do it but rather how almost 2 decades, much of it in solitary confinement affects a young man when he finally gets out and has to cope with the real world. Rectify also delves into how this man’s family, including his sister who spent her adult years trying to get his conviction overturned copes with his release. Surprisingly this is not depressing to watch if you like dramas about family trials and tribulations with deeply authentic writing and acting. So sad to see this end.

A Compelling Narrative Creep

I’d say this story moves at a glacial pace, except it could never keep up with a glacier. It’s sort of like Bolero in that it runs on and on with little development but builds and builds in coloration. We seem to be moving toward a crescendo of character development.

I usually like my entertainment a bit more fast-paced, but somehow I keep on watching. Glad to hear that, despite all, there IS to be a resolution soon.

This is by far the best series I've watched in my lifetime. It draws you in as you become a part of it all, wholly. Such a masterpiece!!! I hate the thought of it ending but I know it must. I've watched each episode at least twice, some more than that, and each time I find that I've missed an important thought. The writer has done an amazing job, as each person in the cast. I will be looking, earnestly for another series by this writer!
