Hidden between the lines of the history books is the story of Mary Stuart, the young woman the world would come to know as Mary, Queen of Scots. The teenage Mary is already a headstrong monarch - beautiful, passionate and poised at the very beginning of her tumultuous rise to power. Arriving in France with four close friends as her ladies-in-waiting, Mary has been sent to secure Scotland's strategic alliance by formalizing her arranged engagement to the French king's dashing son, Prince Francis. But the match isn't signed and sealed, it depends more on politics, religion and secret agendas than affairs of the heart. Prince Francis is intrigued by the fiery Scot, but like most young men, he resists the idea of settling down into marriage, especially when he has a history with a lady of the court and his own point of view on the wisdom of an alliance with Scotland. Still, an attraction between Mary and Francis is ignited.

This show will be amazing!
First of all, I'm a huge fan of historical dramas. Anyone who complains this isn't 100% completely accurate with historical records need a reality check! NO historical period dramatized in TV or movies will ever 100% accurate because it would be just like a documentary! Historical drama genre is intended to pique your interest to further research in your own time about that specific time period! I can tell this show is going to be awesome just from the many previews that I've seen since summer. What really ticks me off is when people write off something as bad BEFORE giving it a chance at least! After watching the pilot episode only then do you have any right to say your opinion. The entire cast does a brilliant job playing their various roles. Even if the outfits aren't entirely accurate with the time period they look fabulous nevertheless! This show has so much potential and I'm glad that CW is diversifying their schedule of shows this year! I hope people see just how wonderful this show is! So excited for it premiere on Oct. 17th! I've purchased the entire Season 1 Pass. I'm usually right about whether new shows will get picked up for another season!
I am in love with this show, I love the CW and the actors are amazing. They make you want to keep watching and never get up. The sad thing is we have to wait til January 23rd for the rest of the episodes. #TeamFrancis ✌️
Really like this show….
If you overlook the fact that the costumes aren't accurate and everyone is speaking in some version of an English accent, this is actually a good show. If you want historical accuracy then why aren't you watching the History channel or PBS for that? Why on earth would you watch the CW for a period type drama?
Anyway, despite the negatives above about the show. I feel like the plot, acting, politics, writing, music, and sets are solid. I actually really enjoy this show. I like the fact that they are young because so many marriages back then happened when people were so young due to the shortened lifespans, political alliances etc. Plus when you are young love is so much fresher and new and this show captures that. I'm really enjoying the mystery dead "ghost" or girl in the castle, and I'm super curious about her history. I'm curious how the romances are going to turn out. And the politics of the show are fun to watch. I really hope they renew it because it is interesting watching everything unfold. I encourage you to watch the pilot and the 2nd episode just to see if you like it.
