Wealth, beauty and status define the people in this town, but one woman is willing to destroy everyone for the sake of revenge. Emily Thorne (Emily Van Camp) is new to the Hamptons. She's met some of her wealthy neighbors, has made a few new friends and seemingly blends into the town. But something is a little odd about a young girl living in a wealthy town all on her own, and the truth is that Emily isn't exactly new to the neighborhood. In fact, this was once her old neighborhood, until something bad happened that ruined her family and their reputation. Now Emily is back, and she's returned to right some of those wrongs in the best way she knows how – with a vengeance.

First season's was the best season finale ive ever seen and ive seen american horror story, desperate house wifes, the walking dead, breaking bad the toudors, the borgias, vampire diaries, revenge is THE best show in tv

TV doesn't get more addictive than this!

Revenge truly was one of the last shows I expected to like. I am generally drawn to comedies and feel-good dramas, but my parents and several relatives were raving about this series from the very beginning, and because I'm always looking to add something new to my iPad, I bought the first season. At this point, there were only 10 episodes, and I remember getting sucked into the storyline very quickly. Though it obviously has a dark side that I usually don't care for, it has a fascinating concept, solid acting, and an addictive quality that keeps you coming back for more. To make a long story short, Amanda Clarke had a pretty sweet childhood with her doting single father until he was framed for a crime he didn't commit, and now, nearly two decades later, she has changed her identity, returned to the place where all hell broke loose, and calls herself "Emily Thorne" as she sets her plan for revenge in motion. This scheme has been ten years in the making, and at the heart of it are the filthy rich Grayson family, whose direct involvement in the conspiracy leaves Emily desperate to even the score. Her plan promises dire consequences from the very beginning, but she will stop at nothing, and even now that 22 episodes have aired, I don't think we've seen the half of it yet! Season 1 was jam-packed with suspense, and while the first string of episodes had a fun, "guilty pleasure" feel to them as Emily thumbed through her first targets, the show definitely evolved into a dark, complex study of a young woman who would stop at nothing to avenge her father when he could no longer do it himself. Now, Season 2 is sure to be even more intense as Emily uncovers a few family secrets and learns more about this conspiracy that stretches far beyond the people she initially deemed responsible. I love everything about this show, from the clever writing to the likable cast (who doesn't love Nolan Ross's deadpan one-liners and Victoria Grayson's flawless fake smiles?) and the frequent flashback sequences are also incredibly well done. They bring a human element to the seemingly icy protagonist, reminding us of what these vindictive monsters did to her as an innocent child and how she was brought to such a point. I can't wait to see where her vendetta takes her (and the rest of the characters) next, and I am excited to purchase the season pass as soon as it starts. As long as the writers stay true to the characters they've built so far and can find a way to keep up the creativity, I think we're looking at a new season that's bound to be even better than the first.

I'm a guy and I didn't expect this show to be any good...but it was freakin awesome..can't wait for season 2!!
