How I Met Your Mother returns for a hilarious fourth season! It all started when Ted’s best friend, Marshall, dropped the bombshell that he was going to propose to his long-time girlfriend, and now wife, Lily, a kindergarten teacher. At that moment, Ted realized that he had better get a move on if he too hopes to find true love. Helping him in his quest is Barney, a friend with endless, sometimes outrageous opinions, a penchant for suits and a foolproof way to meet women. When Ted met Robin, it was love at first sight, but when things didn’t work out, Ted realized destiny must have something else in store. The series is narrated through flashbacks from the future.

The Best Sitcom On TV
"How I Met Your Mother" is the "Friends" of the 2000's, only instead of watching characters that are ten years older than me or more, I'm watching characters my age, going through somewhat more realistic but funny things that I too am going through. The show is at its best when we see "how things might have went," flashbacks, and also little glimpes into the future that can serve as spoilers when we look hard enough. The joy of this show isn't just trying to figure out who will be the mother, but also what will happent to Lilly, Marshall, Barney, and Robin in the future. We're just as invested in them as we are Ted. The first three episodes of this season weren't that great, I'll admit, but starting with "Intervention" and especially with tonight's "Shelter Island," we''re getting into Bays and Thomas greatness again. Last season was a little difficult to endure, what with the breakup of Robin and Ted and the lag from the strike, but this season is now picking up the steam I love. One question though: when will Slap #4 occur?
I absolutely fell in love with this show and even though I didn't want to spend 44 dollars, I knew it was necessary. HIMYM is heartfelt, hilarious, and endlessly entertaining. Strongly recommend!
Greatest show on the planet... Barney truly is the man.
