Awful Show (Please Actually Read My Review Before Clicking "No")
I admit it, I used to watch this show. It's pretty addictive. Although, I stopped watching during the last half of season two last March. Why? Well, this show has been getting worse and worse. I watched the season premiere yesterday and I was shocked. Ben got together with Grace (last half of Season 2), then he sleeps with Adrian (apparently, this happened once last season) and then he goes back to Grace? And, I got the impression that Adrian is likely pregnant with Ben's baby. Also, it seems like previews of future episodes are hinting that Ashley and Ricky will get together. That's kind of wrong. I mean, Ricky has a baby with Amy and now he's going after her sister? Though I cannot confirm that they will get together, the idea is repulsive. Alice and Hank seems to be pretty serious, if you know what I mean, as well as Jack and Madison. This show gives teenagers a bad name. Teenagers don't constantly talk about and have sex. It sets a bad example. Yes, one and maybe soon two of the main characters have a baby, which shows that there are consequences. But it is very unrealistic that Amy could manage school, a job, a baby, and a social life. In fact, it's impossible.
This firt episode was really good. The end moment of Amy and Ben was soo cute :) this was a great way to start the season! Can't wait til next Monday. Definate buy!
Getting REALLY tired. Last season?
I have been watching Secret Life from the beginning and have enjoyed it, but now I am getting sick of it. I have always thought the acting was horrible, but it still worked somehow. It's not working anymore.
1. TEENAGERS DO NOT TALK ABOUT SEX ALL THE TIME. It's ridiculous. What lesson is this show teaching anyway? Do they really think teenagers are like that?
2.They need to give up the whole "trying to make a point" thing, because they are failing miserably to portray what it's like to be pregnant at that age. And what it's like to be a teenager.
3. Having all the characters move from person to person is highly exhausting. I mean, come on - the writers need to be way more original than that!
4. Another person pregnant? I understand the pregnancy of Amy's mom because Molly Ringwald was pregnant in real life, but they need to realize the show is not about pregnancy at all. Making multiple people pregnant makes the show predictable and just plain annoying. And, what about the "hard" life of Amy and her mom with their babies? Yeah, it doesn't seem that hard to me...
I don't think shows HAVE to be completely realistic, but from the beginning, Secret Life's purpose was (apparently) to teach the troubles of getting pregnant at a young age. They are not doing that...which is fine, but they need to realize it, and get back to having a good story line.
