I am sorry, you are out
I love Project Runway, but after watching the first episode of Threads, I will not be watching the rest of the season. It was so painful to watch the young designer go into a downward spiral after being told to change her fabric mid-project. (Luckily she had an amazing Dad supporting her through it.) The show would really benefit from a knowledgable host that knows how to provide encouraging and appropriate feedback, especially given the age range of the designers. If they lost the host and stuck with the judges (who were great) I would consider watching this again.
I Can't Believe It
Update: OK, so I gave it another chance---watching the first episode---despite my bad feeling. OMG, it was even worse than I thought! SUPER PAINFUL TO WATCH!!! How could these children possibly have the taste level or expertise to create any kind of credible fashion? One wants to root for them but it it is an impossible task . . . Who conceived this abortion!!!!!!!
I am a HUGE Project Runway fan, have seen every season, every spin-off, every moment. However, based on the preview, this looks terrible! I mean . . . a really big miss-step . . . On regular PR the believability of even practiced adult designers in executing serious fashion given the time constraints and budgets and twists is strained . . .for these children, no matter how skillful, the whole thing becomes a farce . . . I predict this oddity will crash and burn rather quickly. Whoever thought of this should be fired!
This show needs a makeover
I am watching the show because I love programs about fashion. I also love the judge on the show Christian Siriano. I was expecting to see more of him on the show, and would highly suggest that he either be the host or the Tim Gunn mentor. The children are incredibly talented, but it's awkward seeing their parents as their assistance. Why not pair of the children with experienced seamstresses instead? I also agree with another reviewer here, that the hostess is extremely awkward and doesn't fit the show at all. With a makeover to eliminate the awkwardness of those factors, this could be a winning show indeed!
