Everything. Everyone. Everywhere . . . Ends. HBO presents the final season of the Emmy®-winning drama series that takes a darkly comic look at members of an L.A. family who run an independent funeral home. As Season 5 opens, the show continues to focus on the cathartic journey of the extended Fisher family, whose personal trials and tribulations are played out against the solemn backdrop of their funeral business. This season, story elements established in the first four seasons reach a series of emotional climaxes, with Ruth overwhelmed by her mentally fragile husband George, Nate struggling to reaffirm his relationship with Brenda while raising his daughter Maya, David and Keith longing for children of their own, Claire trying to broaden her horizons, and Federico attempting to fill the void left by Vanessa. By season's end, all will come to embrace the cycle of life—birth, death and rebirth—in ways that are both unique and interconnected.

A Stellar Series

Unfortunately, when this show was still on the air, I didn't have HBO so I wasn't able to watch this show I had heard so much about. Recently, however, I have been able to watch every episode! "Six Feet Under" is a deeply touching and comical series that examines the lives of those whose business is death. As one watches each episode, one becomes more and more connected with these characters and begins to dread when the end of the episode comes. You fall in love these people, especially David and Keith (who are probably one of the sweetest couples that have been on television). From season one to season five, SFU never faltered in its quality: the writing was always superb, the plots were always engaging, and the acting was constantly award-worthy. And, while this show was recognized for several awards, it was not enough. Please watch this show and see what great television is all about.

A perfect ending

Alan Ball's 5 season series wraps up nicely with this 5th season. I have enjoyed SFU to the bitter end and I'm glad HBO gave it the opportunity to wrap up the series with grace. The characters are people you will take with you in your everyday lives and Ball is a star on the rise for sure. Check out True Blood on HBO.

Series Finale

I cried and cried and cried. I didn't want it to end but it ended perfectly, full of meaning, and longing... I am sad to say goodbye to these characters.
