Customer Reviews

Ah, Spongebob you never fail. at least, not before. If I may speak freely and not as an adamant SpongeBob fan (and god, do I love spogebob even though I'm 13), after four seasons Spongey seems to be losing a little lluster, the show has less . . . character to it, the style of spongebob just isn't quite there anymore, while there are some individual gems such as 'Fear of a krabby patty' or 'have you seen this snail' or 'selling out'. Sadly others follow boringly along cliched plots and appeal not to an audience of more intelligent viewers such as I. I miss the early days of spongebob with it's subtle adult humor here and there, moments of sheer nonsense, and occasionally making us actually watch one thing for more than 3 seconds. Instead, now we have episodes, specials even, that feel totally rushed. Take for example 'the best day ever', it was a poor conclusion to a 24hour marathon I expected at least a full episode length or even two new episodes but nay, a too fast paced 15minute cartoon followed by 'karate island' another poor episode. Those few good episodes in Season 4 show that they still can make good episodes but instead this is but a grim reminder of today's society and the inability of the masses to accept anything different. thank you for your time

What happened to the quality writing???

Boy, Spongebob sure has gone downhill from here. Season 1-3 was great but season 4 really bites! The writng is terrible and the show now degrades itself by using foul humor, ugly antics, along with crude (and often gross) animation. Gone are the quality writing clever enough for adults but enjoyable for kids. Heck, even Spongebob is annoying. I dont' know why the actor, Tom Kenny(?), decided to change Spongebobs voice, but he is always yelling! He's playing Spongebob way over the top, and I wish Spongebob or Tom Kenny would take a sedative and just .......relax. Sheesh! Boo! I used to be an adult Spongebob fan, now I don't see any difference between this and other low-brow "childrens" show. I've got Ren and Stimpy for that......!

A Show Deteriorated

This entire season is a disgrace to what was once a phenomenal show. It is amazing how quickly the quality of the writing deteriorated. Originally, the shows humor appealed to all ages. The subtle jokes were funny and more obvious humor was also available for the show’s younger audience members. Now, the show has removed all of the subtle humor that originally expanded the audience beyond young children. In doing so, they have stripped Spongebob down to another boring unfunny young children’s show where everything can only be taken at face value. They have removed the need for intellect when watching the episodes. Seasons 1-3 all represented one of the best animated shows ever and I feel terrible to see how the show was thrown into a money grubbing toilet. Clearly the episodes in season four only exist to saddleback off of the other seasons. There is no way that this show will continue its dominance in the field of animation if the immaturity of the newer episodes continues. If the show’s writers do not get there heads out of the toilet, then I do not see this show lasting two more seasons on television. And for that I feel sorry.
