In the first chapter of the series that started a cultural phenomenon, Kirk, Spock, and McCoy project humanity into the 23rd century with compassion, boldness, and a curiosity to meet the unknown. For more than 40 years, viewers hungry for optimism have found inspiration from Gene Roddenberry's visionary allegory, hooked on the thought-provoking moral tales, the humor, the romance, the philosophy, and the inspired gadgetry aboard the first U.S.S. Enterprise. Now these remastered adventures look and sound even better than ever, with dozens of new and higher-detailed visual effects that blend seamlessly into the episodes you fondly remember.

Customer Reviews

Thanks. You listened to the people, when we told you that we couldn't tell which were the original or the new remasterd versions. Apple is one classy outfit. As for Trex it was great in its original form and it is greater with the modern special effects. But its the storytelling which sets it apart from all others.

Remastered, Not Reinvented

These episodes shine with the new HD finish and CGI SPFX. If you've never been a fan of TOS because of the "cheesy effects" now is the time to give one a whirl. I'd recommend "Where No Man Has Gone Before" or "The Corbomite Maneuver" to indoctrinate yourself. Enjoy!

TOS-R is worth watching for any fan

*The effects may be shaky at first, but with each episode the creative team gets better. It helps tie in TOS better with the current effects used in ST: ENT. I would recommend to any one with an open mind. It does enhance the original show, but can not change dated materials like acting, stunt work and script writing. Well worth it especially if your local tv doesn't carry it or show it at midnight on sunday.
