Hosted by General Wesley Clark (retired) and Samantha Harris, "Stars Earn Stripes" is an action-packed competition show that pays homage to the men and women who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces and our first-responder services. The star-studded cast includes four-time undefeated world boxing champion Laila Ali, actor Dean Cain ("Out of Time," Five Days of War"), actor and former National Football League player Terry Crews ("The Expendables 2," "The Newsroom"), multi-platinum recording artist, actor, producer and television personality Nick Lachey (NBC's "The Sing-Off"), Alaska businessman and four-time Iron Dog snowmobile race champion Todd Palin, "The Biggest Loser" trainer Dolvett Quince, Olympic gold medalist Picabo Street, and WWE Diva, Eve Torres. The eight celebrities will gather at a remote training facility, where they will be challenged to execute complicated missions inspired by real military exercises. From helicopter drops into water to long-range weapons fire, the contestants will be tested physically, mentally and emotionally. Each will be paired with a special operative from a military branch or one of our first-responder forces, including former U.S. Army Delta Force and Green Berets, U.S. Navy SEALS, U.S. Marines and police officers, who train alongside their partners and compete in the missions with them. Each of the teams is competing for a cash prize on behalf of a military, veterans or first-responder charity. Committed to hiring recent vets on to the crew, "Stars Earn Stripes" hopes to inspire other employers throughout the country to make similar commitments to our returning heroes and show audiences just how impossible their service missions really are.

not sure what's going on here
There appear to be several negative ratings from active-duty military, but I don't understand why. To say they should join the military is just silly - the military is cutting down on soldiers and not allowing some to stay. I don't agree with it, but that is what is happening. You also have the fact that most of these guys are too old to join. Also, saying they're just trying to get attention or make more money doesn't really hold up, either; the money they make is going to charity, and this is not a "high profile" show that is going to have these folks on all the late-night and morning talk shows. Complaining that this trivializes your job is like sitting outside a laser tag or airsoft arena and complaining. We all know it's not real, but it gives civilians like me a chance to see other civilians (actors though they may be) get to use cool equipment and struggle to do what for real heroes would be a basic exercise. Your opinion is yours to have, and you have every right to it, but I think the show is great, and it shows a mostly gun-ignorant public that this stuff ain't easy. May God bless all of our troops, veterans, and their families!
For the record... I am former military (USAF 9 years).
Of course this isn't "real combat"... but it is about military equipment/skills, training exercises, developing proficiency, facing fears, executing under pressure, completing the mission, and rewarding superior performance. All things I admire and would like to see more of.
Bottom line... I love this show and highly recommend it.
What A Bunch of Cry Babies.
The People complaining about this show don't have anything better to do. If you don't like it, don't watch it. So Whats next? Let's complain about Call Of Duty & Battlefield Games for being an entertainment and a disgrace for this country. People Get a Life. This Show it's Amazing. Most of my family is in the Army, Navy, Marines so stop being so fragile about this. A+++++
