Having left the safety of being Cat Grant’s assistant at Catco Worldwide Media in order to figure out what she really wants to do, Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) continues to work with Hank Henshaw (aka Martian Manhunter) and her adoptive sister Alex (Chyler Leigh) at the DEO as Supergirl – protecting the citizens of National City and searching for her missing father Jeremiah (Dean Cain) and the secret research lab Project Cadmus. Along the way, she will team up with her Kryptonian cousin Kal El – aka Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) – to battle new villains both terrestrial and extraterrestrial, from the DC Universe, as she strives to balance her personal life with friends/allies James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) and more with her busy life as a new Super Hero in SUPERGIRL Season Two.

I think the CW must have something in their contract that there always has to be a gay character in the show. I appreciate the desire to be PC and having a lead male or female role be gay but on EVERY CW show now? I don't watch superhero shows or read the comics to know their sexual preference beyond what is gone over in the comics! Otherwise good start to Season 2 for Supergirl!

Used to be good

I was a big fan of season one. The show was about female empowerment and having a superhero that looked like me. They have been open about lesbian and interracial relationships, which I love, but this season... There have been some great moments this season but it's been overshadowed by a forced, gaslighting, abusive relationship between supergirl and a frat boy and seems to be more focused on the male sidekicks character development then on Kara's. The writers have a really great thing but they are turning it into every other show that I refuse to watch. I also want to be clear that I'm not writing this review because my ship didn't happen, it's because I'm sick of young girls seeing boys stalk and mistreat girls and still get them. I'm sick of amazing girls being shown they have to settle for mediocrity. The 'bad boy that needs saving' story line is trite and leads girls to think that the behavior is normal. It leads to girls in abusive relationships and suddenly an amazing show about women is portraying this as a good thing? I paid for the season in advance but I'm out guys, I'm not even finishing it.

Supergirl is amazing and the lead actress Melissa Benoist is fantastic!!!
Can't wait season 2 from October 10!
