Imagine being the only survivor of a disease that kills every member of your family; that kills friends, lovers, nearly everyone you have ever met . . . You are among the lonely few to live, and now you must survive in a strange new world where things that were once safe are made disturbing and unsafe — it's our own world, but recycled, reimagined, and reused. Set in the present day, Survivors focuses on the world in the aftermath of a devastating virus which wipes out most of the world's population. What would we do? How would any of us cope in a brave new world where all traditional 21st-century comforts — electricity, clean running water, advanced technology — have disappeared? These are the questions asked of the band of survivors in this thrilling new action adventure written by Adrian Hodges. It is a re-imagining of the classic seventies BBC drama series and is based on the novel by Terry Nation.

I watched it online just WAITING for it to air here in the states. the show is amazing! It's not just another end of the world show, it actually has great stories being told, and you become connected with all the characters. it's not a horror, it's a drama, and like most british dramas, it's awesome! Highly recommend that you watch it, and if you have s of the seen the first episode, the rest of the series just gets better!
where are the rest of the episodes of Season 1? we should be able to have them all, considering this series was originally released in 2008! c'mon iTunes...you do this a lot! 4 stars for Survivors...0 stars for iTunes!
I was a fan of the original and have since seen many attempts at similar storylines (Jericho, The Stand, Jeremiah...) I am very hopeful the story will hold up to the standards that have been set over the years, however, I also want to see more realism in the scenery. I was disappointed to see the supposed worldwide outbreak caused 90% of our population to die, yet other than a few cars shown outside the hospital, there was no indication of people on the streets or even any congestion of traffic attempting to leave the cities. In a true situation like this, I would expect to have people die trying to reach the hospital and lines of cars trying to get out of the large cities, but here it was like the population of the world just vanished.
I want to like this series more and hope the coming episodes remain truer to the subject matter. The cast is great and the premise is worthy of development.
