Swingtown traces two generations of friends and neighbors as they forge intimate connections and explore new freedoms during the culturally transformative decade of the 1970s. Swingtown portrays the ever-shifting "swing" of the pendulum that reflected the change in America's collective value system — morally, politically, and socially. After moving to an upscale lakeside Chicago suburb in July of 1976, Susan and Bruce Miller must confront temptation in the form of their provocative new neighbors, Tom and Trina Decker, while not abandoning their old friends Janet and Roger Thompson.

this show is amazing, i love it already, great music, great quality production, so far has a few stories, all of which i find interesting (via pilot) i missed the 70s by a short straw, but am glad i get to see some 'real' behavior and cheese.. this show is for people older than you.. looking at your reviews you are a huge fan of scooby doo, bomber man, and simple plan, please take your dumb comments and immature behavior elsewhere!
Better than you think
It always amazes me when a movie or tv show captures the feel of a time past with such precision. I watched the first episode (this is not my normal type of show) and was so impressed. I couldn't stop thinking about it for days. The wonderful actress from Deadwood is fantastic. Strongly recommended if you can handle the mature subject matter. If this era was before your time - enjoy some time travel to see what this era was like - just post Beatles and early disco.
I think God got it right!
God got it right when he gave us all "FREE WILL! Free from the personal prejudices of individuals who would seek to impose there views on others and legislate their form of morality. You are free to watch or not watch. Why do we as "so called" Christians appear to be the most intolerant people on the face of the earth? Imagine what this country would be like if another religious faction were the majority and we had no choice but to walk and talk in "locked step" or risk personal pursecution. Great show! It is what it is.. a piece of reality from our own country's and cultures history. I'm sure there are some "born again" Christians out there that weren't quite re-born in the 70's and see themselves in this well written script.
