The Legend of Zelda is an animated fantasy-adventure (with a good deal of comedy). Its two main stars are Link (a 15-year-old adventurer) and Zelda (a princess of the same age), who fight with monsters, ghosts, icky creatures, and each other as they try to save the kingdom of Hyrule from the dark depredations of the evil wizard Ganon.

Not good, but an obscure part of Zelda history.
The Legend of Zelda cartoon is not a good show. However, I would be lying if I said I didn't get some enjoyment out of it. In terms of story, characters, and animation, it's below average for a cartoon trying to sell toys (in this case video games) to its viewers. The reason I somewhat enjoy this cartoon is because I find it obscure that a Zelda cartoon exists, and that the character of Link is made out to be a wise-crack instead of a selfless hero like in the games. Bottom line, it's worth a watch, but it lacks in quality.
Missing live action segments
It's better then nothing but for some strange reason they cut out all the live action segments. These cartoons are part of the Super Mario Bros Super Show and are edited. Hopefully they will learn Nintendo fans want it all.
