Based on real-life accounts by former French spies, The Bureau tells the story of a man torn between love and loyalty, in a world where a single lie can kill. When French intelligence officer Guillaume "Malotru" Debailly (Mathieu Kassovitz) returns to Paris after six years as an undercover agent in Syria, he struggles to reconnect with his daughter, ex-wife, colleagues and even, his old self. But after learning that his lover in Syria (Nadia, played by Zineb Triki), is now in Paris, Guillaume breaks agency rules and approaches her as the man he was in Damascus: Paul Lefebvre. As Guillaume begins living a double life, he opens himself up (and DGSE) to new and unprecedented dangers.

The Bureau, Season 1

Captivating movie, shot incredibly well! Slow start, but first episode develops each major character fully and realistically. A political psychological thriller revealing the inner workings of modern espionage. Surprises and plot twists, with an ironic sense of humor. A delightful series!

The Bureau, Season 1

Excellent Series. Well acted and totallybelievable. Shows how murky and devious intelligence officers need to be and how imaginative agencies are in their forward planning and thinking. Its right up there with "The Americans" and "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier. Spy" and the "Night Manager". The subtitles are good and don’t fly past. I look forward to series 2

Very good spy drama

I really liked this! I wish the subtitles didn’t fly by so fast and had better contrast, but I managed to keep up and get into the story. What’s interesting to me is how these undercover agents manage to infiltrate our lives and fool us about our reality. I wonder what the psychological impact of that is on society when they find out they’ve been fooled, people aren’t real, and they’ve been manipulated? Surely, it must produce distrust of the govt and elevated levels of paranoia.

This series, by the way is already a year old. Why not just release the whole thing instead of week by week?
