David E Kelly and Robin Williams...what a combo!
David E Kelly has had so many great successes (Ally McBeal, Chicago Hope, LA Law, the Practice, Boston Legal...to name a few) and putting his talents to work with comedy legend Robin Williams has to be another one "out of the park" for both.
The show is rounded out with a great cast of characters with impressive pedigrees like Sarah Michelle Gellar (Ringer, and a Joss Whedon alumnus from Buffy the Vampire Slayer), James Wolk (Mad Men), Hamish Linklater (The Newsroom), and Amanda Setton (The Mindy Project).
We “NEED” a season two!!!
Best short comedy in a long time. Character development is in its early stages; its sure to become an Emmy Winner with another season or two if the writers continue along the same line. Surprisingly, we’re finding that the least played actors are becoming the most fascinating — and amusing! A memorable line: “Can you guys tell I’m high?” “Yes.” A flashback that reminds me how glad I am that I no longer “partake.”
From the soundtrack: (that my family doesn’t skip over - as we do with most shows.), to the images of Chicago that make it look like a Jewell; the fast pasted editing and the overall quirkiness of storyline and of the individual characters as well, its become the most requested show at my home! (14 year old boy, 18 year old girl, two 49 year old parents and a 72 year old grandma.) It hits a universal demographic. Emulating recent successful cinema, it includes a few out takes at the very end; nearly all are worth a good giggle at minimum!
Thank you CBS, for the excellent work.
The actors are amazing and the story is creative, funny, and touching. Love it!
