Just a well written show. I love the characters
Unnecessary inclusion of LBGT
Excellent writing and acting and setting slightly spoiled by Simon Nye's determination to bring in modern sexual politicking rather than sticking to the original story, or at least the mode of life of that period.
He said that there is not enough in the books to create more episodes, but leaves out or changes material at whim, creating quite a distinction between the original themes and humour and his personal stories that seem to want to conform to a more immoral ideological or political persuasion, less suited to the period.
I felt he would have done better to write from a less biased position.
Hopefully, we will see this corrected in future series, but if not then I would give them a miss, most unfortunately.
