Best show in years
Difference between British and US audiences:
-Britain —> The Honourable Woman (Superb modern spy thriller)
-US —> Tyrant (cheesy soap opera posing as “smart”)
Similar subject matter, but orders of magnitude differences in depth, plot, sophistication, suspense, character development, realism. If it was a US show, I would bet the bank that it would be cancelled after season 1 (like the superb Rubicon). Being a BBC production leaves me very hopeful!
Overall, a superb series.
WOW! Again, I'm reminded why I love BBC productions. Great performances, excellent writing, superb filming and editing make this seem like a feature film. I count the days between episodes, waiting to see if the next is as spellbinding as the last.
Intriguing Plot and Beautifully Filmed
This is basically a Middle-Eastern political thriller which is well-written, acted and filmed. It takes you into a complicated world that keeps you engaged from week to week. Give it a try if you haven’t already.
