An unexpected opportunity eases Tina’s grief while Bette defends the gallery against a right-wing attack; Shane’s relationship with her patrons gets complicated; Marina and Francesca fight, and Jenny tries to help Tim.

Bette prepares for the gallery’s new show and hires Candace, an attractive female contractor, to handle the set-up; Tina, Jenny, Shane, Alice and Dana share an eventful trip to Palm Springs.

A near-riot at the gallery lands Bette and her friends in jail, putting Bette in dangerous proximity to Candace; Shane’s relationships grow more convoluted; Kit meets Ivan, a drag king; Marina contemplates life without Francesca, and Tim and Jenny discuss divorce.

Tina finds out about Candace; Shane’s patrons turn on her; Dana loses a friend but gains a fiancée, while Kit tries to make sense of Ivan’s attention and her reaction to it.

The second season opens as rumors circulate about Marina’s suicide attempt and her return home to Italy. This news has a devastating effect on Jenny even as she prepares for an emotional goodbye with Tim who has accepted a coaching job in Ohio. Regretful over her tryst with Candace, Bette promises Tina that her philandering is over and asks her to come home. Alice and Dana can’t resist each other. After another sexual rendezvous (this time in the public restroom at the Planet), they decide to meet to discuss how to curb their mutual attraction.

Tina hires gay-rights lawyer Joyce Wischnia to represent her in the division of assets with Bette. Kit tracks down Ivan at her cabin in the country and proposes a business partnership that Ivan agrees to consider. Jenny auditions for a master writing class taught by famous author Charlotte Birch, an intimidating artist who initially seems to take a dislike to Jenny and her work. Shane continues her flirtation with production assistant Carmen on the set of a music video.

Jenny is instantly smitten when she meets her new roommate, Shane’s current love interest, Carmen. Carmen is both dejected and intrigued by Shane’s inability to open up, but is also attracted to Jenny. It’s down to the wire for the grand reopening of The Planet and Kit is still struggling to book a musical act for the event. A meeting between Bette, Tina and their lawyers does not go well. Dana begins to question Tonya’s motives in their relationship. To make matters worse, Tonya wants to charge Dana a fifteen percent manager’s fee for the service.

Bette travels to New York for some damage control with Helena Peabody, the new administrator of a foundation that provides financial support to the Art Center. Shane and Jenny interview prospective roommates but can’t quite find the perfect candidate. They finally settle on Mark, a video director. Kit attends a self-help seminar taught by a charismatic guru, Benjamin Bradshaw. After conducting an inventory of her and Bette’s possessions, Tina’s lawyer Joyce makes an unwelcome pass at her. Shane draws the attention of high-powered producer Veronica Bloom.

Jenny’s sexy new look attracts plenty of attention, including that of Carmen. On the eve of Dana and Tonya’s wedding, Dana has a tryst with Alice and the two of them are almost caught. Bette is unimpressed when she meets Kit’s new friend and guru Benjamin Bradshaw for the first time. At the bachelorette party for Tonya and Dana, the mutual attraction between Tina and Helena turns into a passionate kiss. Mark’s video project takes a voyeuristic turn when he and his friend plant secret cameras around the apartment in order to catch Jenny and Shane in unguarded moments.

Jenny and Shane’s roommate Mark becomes increasingly manipulative in his quest to capture spicy secret videos of them in compromising positions. As Dana prepares to travel to La Jolla for a demonstration tennis match, Alice tells Dana to call off the wedding with Tonya. Alice even goes so far as to write a “break-up script” for the reluctant Dana, but it’s Tonya who has the last laugh when a shocking secret is revealed that leaves Alice and Dana free to become a couple.

Alice and Dana tentatively begin dating, while Tina comes between Helena and her ex. Bette rejoins the singles scene, and Shane dulls her pain over Jenny and Carmen.

Bette and Tina agree to forge a new relationship. Jenny loses a chance to ghost-write a macho TV star's autobiography because she's gay.

Alice's sex-toy request freaks out Dana. Jenny learns the truth about TV star Burr, and about Carmen's feelings for Shane.

A lesbian cruise in the Caribbean proves eventful for Dana, Alice, Shane, Jenny and Carmen, while Bette and Kit struggle to connect with their aging father Melvin during a visit.

Against the backdrop of a gay-pride parade, shocking secrets are revealed about Dana's brother and Jenny's past, while Bette and Kit deal with their rapidly deteriorating father.

Bette moves her father, played by Emmy-nominated actor Ossie Davis, into her home for his final days. Alice struggles with her jealousy over Dana's dinner with an ex, and Jenny flirts with danger while confronting a repressed memory.

Melvin's memorial service is attended by a surprise guest. Bette is fired by Franklin, then coaches Tina through what turns out to be an unexpectedly difficult labor and delivery. Jenny is in trouble and asks for help.

The third season opens with Bette and Tina visiting a sex therapist who tries to coach them back into the bedroom and away from breast feeding and diapers. Alice has a hard time getting over Dana and voices her despair and depression over the airwaves with equal doses of pills and obsessiveness in between breaths. Helena visits a psychic, which leads her to thinking that fate may have Alice in mind as her new love interest. At the same time, Helena signs the deal that buys her a movie studio. After going through therapy and getting caught in bed with gal pal Moira, Jenny leaves her parents’ home for good and heads back to LA with Moira in tow.

Billie Blaikie, a flamboyant party promoter, packs The Planet with a casino event. Alice gets a lesson on tough love at a Bisexual Love and Sex Addicts meeting when she seeks solace for her obsession over Dana. As Jenny and Moira drive west, they get confronted by rednecks at a local diner in Colorado. Later on in a girl bar, Jenny doesn’t like it when Moira makes moves on another girl.

Shane goes into business at WAX, Venice Beach’s coolest new skate shop. When Jenny pulls into Hollywood, Shane and Carmen are taken by surprise by Moira, Jenny’s new butch girlfriend. Moira finds herself out of place in Jenny’s LA-world. On radio, Alice continues to obsess about Dana which now includes a discourse on her journey with psychotropic drugs, much to the concern of her producer.

After Moira doesn’t come home all night, Jenny starts burning her manuscript. While Tina is buried with work at the studio, Bette leaves without warning for Washington D.C to speak at a Senate Hearing. Carmen makes Shane frenzied trying to figure out if she should work the Russell Simmons party or DJ at WAX’s opening party. While babysitting, Angus tries to convince an insecure Kit that he’s her man and goes all out trying to win her heart. After Tina and Helena go to a screening of a documentary, Helena becomes smitten with filmmaker Dylan Moreland.

Hiding the truth from the girls, Dana tries to deal with facing a mastectomy and a tennis career that’s over, while Lara tries helplessly to keep Dana positive. Alice drags Helena out to Billie Blaikie’s “Bi-sexual Speed Dating” night at The Planet. Bette stumbles into Tina’s online chat room and confronts her about her secret internet sex life that finds a man at the other end of the line. Jenny gets word that the New Yorker wants to publish a chapter of her book and decides to celebrate by taking out Moira.

Tina confesses to Bette that she may have feelings for Josh Becker. In a passive/aggressive move, Bette encourages Tina to explore her feelings but also lets her know the fallout from that confusion may mean the end to their relationship. Reluctant to start up with Angus, a man she considers too young for herself, Kit relents and takes a step towards a relationship. Dana faces reality as she gets a mastectomy just as the girls find out the truth about her cancer.

Moira finds that not only are the male hormones making her horny 24/7, but there are other more inauspicious side effects she hadn’t anticipated. After Dana starts her first round of chemotherapy, the girls have a barbecue at Bette and Tina’s to lift her spirits, but Dana’s emotional struggle with cancer culminates with her lashing out at Lara. Carmen pushes Shane into getting matching tattoos of “mate for life” birds.

It is official - Moira from now on will be known as Max. Jenny and Max visit a doctor to learn more about gender reassignment surgeries needed to complete Max’s transformation and discover that the costs are exorbitant. Nona Hendryx and Betty Band fly in from New York to help Kit with her new CD. Helena decides to pile all the girls into her mother’s private jet and take Dana to watch the Stamford University home basketball championship game.

Dana starts to see light at the end of a very dark tunnel and goes shopping on Rodeo Drive with Alice, where she looks forward to starting a new career as a TV sports commentator. Carmen loses it at her mother's house and comes out about being a lesbian. During her retreat at the Buddhist monastery, Bette has to deal head on with her A-type personality, which starts her on a short-lived path about the meaning of humility and tolerance.

After Dana falls sick and is rushed to the hospital, Alice refuses to leave her bedside - even for a minute. Shane forgives Carmen after she confesses she cheated on her. Increasingly frustrated by distractions that neither she can control nor avoid, Bette leaves the monastery before the end of the 10 days to face the real world again, realizing that maybe she’s leaving a little more enlightened than when she walked in.

Alice is determined to carry out Dana’s final wishes despite the Fairbanks’ attempts at distancing the girls. After Bette meets Henry and his son for the first time, she decides a consultation meeting with gay rights lawyer Joyce Wischnia is in order as she begins to explore the options of filing for sole custody of baby Angelica. Max gets a job at the computer firm that rejected his application when he came in as Moira. Jenny sees this as an opportunity for a discrimination case with dollars attached.

The girls plan for Shane and Carmen’s wedding, while Shane goes to Oregon to meet her father, Gabriel McCutcheon, and bonds with her half-brother, Shay. Kit tells an excited Angus that she’s pregnant. She has obviously not decided what she wants to do. Bette continues to consider sole custody of Angelica, with Joyce Wischnia acting as attorney-at-large.

Bette kidnaps baby Angelica until a custody agreement can be brokered with Tina. After running out on Carmen at the altar, Shane gets reeled back into the high life with Cherie Jaffe, and then spirals out of control with drugs and alcohol. Meanwhile, Jenny is reunited with Marina, and Helena's mother cuts her off.

Bette adjusts to her new job in academia for a formidable new boss, Phyllis (Cybill Shepherd). Jenny lets down her guard with Stacey, a journalist from Curve Magazine, who writes a scathing review of her book. Tina must fire Helena from the studio, leaving her nowhere to go but accept a roommate offer from Alice.

Bette embarks on an ill-advised affair with a teaching assistant, and her boss Phyllis comes out. Obsessed in tracking down Stacey, the journalist who screwed over Jenny with a malicious review, Jenny gets Max to do a computer search on Stacey’s girlfriend, hoping to find dirt and thereby destroy Stacey’s credibility. Shane gives Helena a job at WAX as a receptionist, but she doesn’t quite fit the bill.

Bette deals with an artist (Marlee Matlin) whose work is politically incendiary, and fears the potential for disaster in the relationship between Phyllis and Alice if things don't go Phyllis' way. Jenny grows duplicitous when trying to get revenge on Stacey and resorts to enlisting a dying dog in order to meet Stacey’s girlfriend, a veterinarian. Tina is rejected by her friends at a softball game and joins the opposing team.

After Bette makes it clear to Nadia that a repeat performance of their past sexual encounter is never going to happen, Nadia decides to resign as Bette’s TA. Alice breaks up with Phyllis after meeting her husband, realizing she doesn't want to be part of breaking up Phyllis' family. Tina discovers Angus with her au pair Hazel, while Jenny publishes a short story in The New Yorker that infuriates Alice.

Bette tries to hold her art program together as Phyllis lashes out at everyone after Alice calls it quits with her. Shane’s Russian Roulette film premiere gets out of control as a phone tree grows to unmanageable proportions as all the girls scramble to get invited. Papi shows up with her crew to teach Helena, Alice and Shane poker and shares the cardinal rules of the game with the trio.

Jenny's short story about her friends sparks interest from Hollywood much to the chagrin of the girls. Alice's new girlfriend Tasha experiences flashbacks to the war in Iraq. Bette and Jodi rush to Phyllis’ side as they try to console her on getting over her first lesbian crush, her coming out affair of the heart.

Jenny gets caught off guard by Stacey who accuses her of invading the lives of real people then promptly attacks her in a parking lot in front of her agents. The clash and argument over their opposite views on the Iraq war leads to an intense love making session for Alice and Tasha. At Kit's CD launch party, her duet with Angus falls apart on stage as she can’t hold back her pain and anger over his infidelity.

Tina and Jenny get stonewalled over creative differences on the development of their movie. Phyllis' husband Leonard drops in unexpectedly to Alice’s apartment for a tete a tete about Phyllis’ coming out, only to find himself in Alice’s bedroom surrounded by Helena, Tasha, Papi and Alice who try to impart words of wisdom to ease his broken heart. Bette and Jodi's relationship might go to the next level if Bette can curb her Type-A personality.

Kit binge drinks while Angus desperately tries to make her see how sorry he is. Alice finds investors in her blog, but with strings attached that involve Jenny, who finds the perfect director for her movie. A simple dinner party to introduce Jodi to the rest of the girls becomes a high-stress catered affair where Bette’s Type-A personality rears its ugly head, much to Jodi's disgust.

Jenny's serialized short stories hit home for Bette, who faces losing Jodi to an art center on the east coast. Iraq flashbacks haunt Alice's girlfriend Tasha, who is ordered by a commanding officer to hide her sexuality. Leonard tells Phyllis he’ll take her back and even enlists the help of their daughter Molly, except Phyllis has no interest in reconciling…ever!

Tina returns to lesbian life while Bette seeks her advice on wooing Jodi back who's left for upstate New York. Alice has a hard time accepting that Tasha must return to Iraq for another tour of duty. Helena looks for a way out from Catherine’s financial clutches and seizes an opportunity to get out of the gambling high life. Fearing that Jenny may cause the studio to pull out of producing ‘Lez Girls,’ Tina and Kate Arden decide to exclude her from a meeting with executives, but Jenny uncovers their plans and barges in anyhow.

The fifth season opens with Shane derailing plans to move in with Paige, then suffering the consequences. Jenny returns from Mexico with a Greek hedge fund billionaire who is financing Tina's movie company. Phyllis begins to have doubts about their relationship and wonders if she should explore other sexual and romantic options.

An attempt at a love connection ends in disappointment for Tina, who can't manage to disguise her lingering attraction and love for Bette. Shane's last-minute gig styling hair at a wedding results in a comic series of erotic encounters. Tasha's solicitation of legal advice from a colleague reveals the truth about why she wasn't deployed to Iraq – she's being investigated by the military for suspected homosexual conduct.

In the wake of her recent drama at a wedding reception, Shane swears off sex and embraces a healthier lifestyle of exercise and meditation. After surfing the Internet for a date, Tina hooks up with a gorgeous, surgically enhanced doctor whose unexpected interest in art collecting has them bonding and more. Max ponders a same-sex attraction to Jodi's cute, gay interpreter Tom, who is clearly smitten.

Bette's jealousy over Tina's new girlfriend is the probable cause of a surprising moment. Disappointed to be turned down for the lead in Lez Girls, Jenny is courted for the lead in her movie by the latest Bond girl. The gang attends the opening of a new lesbian club competing with The Planet.

Jenny throws a bash to introduce her friends to the actresses playing them in Lez Girls, provoking both delight and distress. Bette and Tina try to deal with what is obviously a rekindled spark. Alice angrily outs a secretly gay sports star after he utters a homophobic slur, sparking a media firestorm.

The production of Lez Girls finally begins and director Jenny deals with all the usual headaches of filmmaking – including a recalcitrant star and lover, Niki. Unable to control or suppress their desires any longer, Bette and Tina end up in each other's arms, only to suffer the guilt of infidelity when they realize how seriously Bette is betraying Jodi. The owners of SheBar take their war against the gang to the next level.

Clashes between actresses on the set of Jenny's movie somehow lead to a night of lesbian Turkish oil wrestling that ends with a visit from the cops. Tasha meets Colonel Gillian Davis, the hard-assed military attorney who will be prosecuting her “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” case.

Niki's handlers force her to appear at her movie premiere with a male escort, squashing rumors of her relationship with Jenny. As Bette and Tina's anguish increases, they decide to go back to therapy to deal with the torturous affair. Tasha’s showdown with Colonel Gillian Davis resumes as her separation hearing commences and her sexuality is put on trial.

Amidst a scorching heat wave in Los Angeles, Jenny finds her own temperature rising on the set of Lez Girls when she comes to find her two stars have taken their romance off screen and into bed. Though the power is failing across the city, there is definite energy exchanged between all couples, including Molly and Shane.

A memorial breast cancer bike ride becomes the unlikely setting where Bette and Tina reveal their rekindled passion. As the cycling continues, Molly finds herself chasing after Shane in more ways than one. Jenny and Nikki decide to film their own version of Lez Girls.

The enigmatic and mysterious Adele finally makes a power play and usurps Jenny as the director of Lez Girls. Breaking up is tough to do as Jodi returns to Bette for answers. The girls are outraged when a distressed Kit loses financial control of The Planet to Dawn and Cindi.

In the fifth season finale, Shane predictably pulls away from Molly when the relationship becomes serious. Helena Peabody returns to Los Angeles to visit her mother in the hospital and is gifted with her family¹s wealth once again. Lez Girls is finally finished as everyone arrives in all the glitz and glamour to the wrap party.

In the sixth season premiere, a shocking revelation about the fate of a major character leads to a season-long series of flashbacks that will reveal the events leading up to a tragedy.

Bette and Tina discuss plans for a new life together, but the reappearance of an old acquaintance of Bette's threatens their future. Tasha and Alice seek counseling for their compatibility issues, while an old flame sends Helena reeling.

The negative of Jenny's movie "Lez Girls" goes missing, while Shane’s guilt from her intimate moment with Nikki leads to her incessant apologizing to Jenny. Alice’s feelings are hurt when Jenny denounces her desire to write a screenplay. It's opening night at Kit and Helena's new nightclub, HIT!

Bette and Tina go to Nevada to meet a potential birth mother, while Max is trying to deal with being pregnant. Alice and Tasha play matchmaker, and Kelly Wentworth may have just what Bette needs.

Jenny writes another script that sells, while Bette and Kelly go into business together. Alice and Tasha have a third-wheel crush in their relationship. The girls plot a sting operation to test Dylan, while Jenny encroaches further on Shane.

Jenny throws a baby shower for Max, while Bette and Tina hit a roadblock in the adoption process. Bette goes solo to her gallery's opening night celebration, leading Kelly to go in for the kill. Shane is feeling boxed in by Jenny.

Rumors fly around a dance marathon that Alice and Tasha are having relationship trouble; someone plans a move to the Big Apple; Kit meets a real man; there's a no-show at the bus station.

In the series finale, a celebration of friendship ends in a web of betrayal and deceit as the girls find themselves in the slammer with a detective investigating the death of one of their own.
